Making Learning Meaningful Through Civic Engagement LIMITED
Friday July 25, 2025 10:00am - 12:15pm PDT
Civic engagement is a meaningful way for students to connect what they are learning, in all content areas, to real world scenarios. In this session, we will focus on what civic engagement is, analyze the benefits of incorporating civic engagement across content areas, and explore ways in which current practice and curriculum can be modified to include civic action. We will also go over the State Seal of Civic Engagement and examine the criteria for the 25-26 school year.

Objectives:
Participants will be able to identify the benefits of including civic engagement into their curriculum. They will also have time to identify at least ONE area of their curriculum that could be modified to include a civic action element or project and start to build out that modification.
